Head Hunting by PLP
In standard Recruitment, an agency is briefed by a client about a position. They then advertise the role on their chosen job sites and source candidates via databases they have access to, shortlisting applications, before sending suitable CV’s across to the client.
With search & selection or headhunting, quite often the role is private and confidential as there is typically a current incumbent. There is to be no mention of the upcoming position online nor advertised anywhere. It is therefore down to the Recruiter to use various tools to approach candidates that might be passively job seeking.
How we do it at PLP…
We work closely with the senior stakeholders in the business, often MD’s, HR Directors, or CFOs to discuss the upcoming requirement. We ascertain the often-sensitive nature of the hire, whether the need is private and confidential as well as taking a detailed brief of the requirements and team fit necessary for a successful hire.
Once a brief is taken from a client, we then begin our proactive search, using the databases we have access to, our vast network of contacts and tools such as LinkedIn to identify suitable candidates. As well as having the relevant experience, we take into consideration their sector background, proximity to the office, availability (as often this is key to replace someone at short notice), before setting up a call to discuss the opportunity in more detail. Where there is a requirement to proceed on a P&C basis, company names, contacts and even sectors aren’t divulged, nor job descriptions sent.
When a shortlist has been compiled, CVs are sent across to the client, then interviews arranged offsite and NDAs signed (if required), then feedback exchanged, and an offer made.
Please reach out to us if you’d like more detail about this service we offer. Here is what one of our current clients thought about our P&C search & selection hire of their behalf:
“Parke Lane People have been instrumental in assisting us with a number of finance based roles, including Analysts, Assistant Accountants and a P&C Senior Finance hire.
Their professional approach – including screening, review, understanding of the roles and our needs, and touch points with new hires – is outstanding and I would highly recommend. Nothing is too much trouble!”
