Introducing Our Employer Playlist: Your Personal Guide to Recruitment Success – Part Two

Hi it’s Andy here

In our first YouTube playlist blog post, I gave you a closer look at what makes Parke Lane People tick and how we work with you to find the right candidates who not only have the skills but also the right attitude to fit into your company culture. If you missed it, you can read all about it here. Today I wanted to address some follow-up questions that often come up when we’re discussing recruitment with our clients. We’re more than just a recruitment agency. We pride ourselves on being your recruitment consultants here to support you at every stage of the process.

1) Do you have references from other businesses you’ve worked with?

One of the things we value most at Parke Lane People is the long-lasting relationships we’ve built with our clients. We don’t just place people and walk away. We’re in it for the long haul. Many of our clients return to us time and time again, whether that’s for new hires or simply because they trust us to help with their recruitment needs.

We also see a lot of recommendations coming our way from people we’ve worked with in the past. Candidates who’ve gone on to recommend us to their friends and family when they’re looking for work and clients who introduce us to other businesses in need of our services. It’s all about trust and we’ve earned that trust by delivering quality time and time again. You can read more about what our clients have to say on our website.

2) If the hire doesn’t work out what kind of replacement support do you offer?

As much as we do everything in our power to ensure a perfect match, we understand that things don’t always go according to plan. If a placement doesn’t work out – and trust me, this is a rare occurrence – we offer a free replacement to make sure you’re not left in the lurch. The last thing we want is for you to be back at square one, so we act quickly to repost job adverts and begin the candidate search again.

We offer a 12-week guarantee period, which typically aligns with the probationary period for most positions. Should a free replacement not be found, we’ve got a rebate scale in place to ensure you’re fairly supported. This is all clearly laid out in our terms so you can be confident in our commitment to your business.

3) How involved are you during the recruitment process?

At Parke Lane People, we’re not just here to find someone to fill a job. We’re here to work as your recruitment consultants, offering guidance and support throughout the entire process. From our first meeting, where we get to know your business and the role you’re hiring for, we’re involved in everything from refining job titles and salary expectations to shortlisting CVs and organising interviews.

We stay in constant communication, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Even after the offer has been made and the candidate has started, we continue our involvement with an aftercare service that includes three check-ins during the first 12 weeks. One after week one, another at month one, and a final check-in at 12 weeks. This is all part of our dedication to ensuring both your business and your new hire are set up for success.

Getting Ready to Hire? Here’s How We Can Help

If you’re preparing to hire, there are a few key points you should consider before diving into the recruitment process.

Firstly, have you thought about internal options? Sometimes the best candidate for a role is already within your team. Offering internal promotions can have numerous benefits, such as retaining talent and boosting morale. If you’re looking to develop talent within your business, we can advise you on the best way to identify and nurture that potential.

Secondly, do you have a strong job description in place? A clear and compelling job description is essential for attracting the right candidates. It should outline the roles, responsibilities, required skills, and qualifications. It’s also important to reflect your company’s culture and values so that candidates can assess whether they are a good fit for your team.

Finally, when you’re ready to go external, it’s important to partner with a recruitment agency that understands your specific needs. As we’ve mentioned before, this is where we come in. We’re not just about filling positions. We take the time to understand your business, your culture, and the unique challenges you’re facing. This allows us to recommend candidates who won’t just meet the job requirements but who will thrive in your environment.
